There are a lot of people that would love to see Ron DeSantis run for president rather than Donald Trump.
Because of that, we are starting to see PACs pop up with DeSantis’ name attached to them.
Money is already pouring into the PACs, but DeSantis is now warning people against them.
Not Me
One PAC, in particular, is getting a lot of attention.
That would be the Ron to the Rescue PAC.
The DeSantis camp wants to ensure his donors are not giving up money to these PACs instead of the Ron DeSantis campaign.
Benjamin Gibson, legal counsel for DeSantis, stated, “Whether well intentioned or not, the organizers of these PACs have not been in contact with DeSantis leadership and such efforts may create confusion amongst supporters of the Governor and his policies.”
He added, “It is important to make clear to supporters that Governor DeSantis and his team are not affiliated with the ‘Ron to the Rescue’ PAC, have not authorized it to conduct any activity on their behalf, and contributions made to the ‘Ron to the Rescue’ PAC will not benefit Governor DeSantis or his agenda.”
GOP strategist John Thomas, the founder of Thomas Partners Strategies, founded the PAC.

Thomas stated, “We couldn’t be more proud to support Ron DeSantis 100% as our nation desperately needs strong, battle-tested leadership.”
He continued, “The intention of our group is to lay the groundwork and harness the energy for Ron DeSantis so that he may hit the ground running if and when he decides to officially run.
“Since the Governor is not a candidate for President at this time, we’ve stepped up to the plate to advocate and organize Americans who feel passionately that we need Ron DeSantis leading our nation.
“We view it to be of critical importance to organize and communicate with Americans now so that Donald Trump and other potential Republican candidates do not gain any advantage in the meantime.
“Since our launch, we have been encouraged and thrilled with the outpouring of support from Americans across the nation who want and believe Ron DeSantis should be the next President of the United States.”
And I am sure DeSantis appreciates the support, but not at the cost of people donating to the PAC instead of his campaign.
DeSantis is the one candidate Trump fears the most, but he has not yet even hinted that he will be running for president in 2024.
