Comedian Jack Black and Kyle Gass turned what was supposed to be a complete joke into a legitimate rock band.
The two formed Tenacious D in 1994 as a joke when they were both part of a local comedy group.
It would now appear that the group has played its last gig.
Bad Taste
Tenacious D took on a life of its own over the years, as Black and Gass’ “mock rock” became widely popular with fans.
The group released its first album in 2001, then had a movie in 2006 called, “Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny.”
The group released its second album with the movie, then released a third album in 2012.
More recently, Black and Gass were on a legitimate tour, playing in Australia when Gass made a comment that would put the band on a hiatus.
They were celebrating Gass’ birthday on stage, when Black told him to make a wish, and Gass wished that the shooter would not miss Trump next time.
What is even worse is that the audience cheered, but after having a day to think about it, Jack Black did not find the humor in his bandmate’s comment.
Black announced, “I was blindsided by what was at the show Sunday.
“I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.
“After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold.
“I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”
Gass would later release an apology, but it was far too late.
I am not sure if, after all this dies down, that Tenacious D will be back or not.
I think most people will forgive Black, but Gass will forever be despised among the most faithful Trump supporters.
It just goes to show the mentality of these far-leftist entertainers… they are sick, and there is no way Gass should ever take the stage again.
