The mother of the Robb Elementary School murderer is asking for forgiveness from the victims and the victims’ families. The shooting that devastated Uvalde, Texas has sent shockwaves through the nation.

“Forgive me, forgive my son. I know he had his reasons,” Adriana Martínez Reyes, the mother of Salvador Ramos, pleaded to the victims’ families in an emotional interview with the Spanish-language network Televisa.

When asked about what reasons her son might have had, the mother said, “To get closer to those children instead of paying attention to the other bad things. I have no words. I don’t know.”

She explained to the reporter that the mass murderer was “very quiet.”

“He was himself. He didn’t bother anybody. He didn’t do anything to anybody,” she said.

The 18-year-old opened fire on students and teachers at Robb Elementary School with a semi-automatic rifle on May 24, killing 19 children and 2 grownups and wounding 17 other students.

Fox News Digital reported that Adriana Reyes was seen praying on the front porch of her parent’s house on the night of May 26.

Juan Alvarez, who is in a relationship with Reyes, informed NBC News on May 25 that Ramos left the home he shared with both Alvarez and his mother, to live with his grandparents two months earlier after a heated argument with Reyes over internet use.

“He was kind of a weird one. I never got along with him. I never socialized with him. He doesn’t talk to nobody,” Alvarez said. “When you try to talk to him he’d just sit there and walk away.”

Reyes’s boyfriend’s mom, Maria Alvarez, told Fox News on May 25 that Reyes accompanied Celia Martinez Gonzales– the grandmother of Ramos, whom Ramos shot in the face– to a hospital in San Antonio earlier in the day.

According to Maria Alvarez, Reyes said she might not think that Ramos would do such a thing to his grandma, including that he “loved” his grandma.

Since the early morning, Ramos’s grandma, presumed to be the 66-year-old female hospitalized in the University Hospital at San Antonio, is still in “critical condition,” according to a tweet published by the hospital that reported, “Update on the shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde: at University Hospital we have received four patients: 66-year-old woman, serious condition 10-year-old girl, serious condition 9-year-old girl, good condition 10-year-old girl, discharged from hospital”
