After completing their shifts as per normal, these four Louisiana police officers decided to go to Outback Steakhouse to get a quick dinner. What they didn’t expect to happen was that once they stepped inside, the manager and their server noticed their uniforms and planned to send this message on their receipt.

Recently, a heartwarming story of appreciation unfolded at an Outback Steakhouse in Slidell, Louisiana. Four on-duty local officers stopped by the restaurant to grab some dinner and were met with kindness from both their server Zoe Rao and the manager Arline Wood.

The $67 tab was taken care of by these two generous women, who even included a heartfelt note thanking them for their service to the community.

The Slidell Police Department took notice of this kind gesture and posted an image of the receipt on their Facebook page which quickly went viral. Despite the overwhelming attention that ensued after this act of appreciation, Wood said that she had not done it for publicity but rather just wanted to thank them for all they do.

These two employees have set an excellent example for how we should show our gratitude towards law enforcement officers who volunteer to put their lives on-the-line every day so that we can remain safe. It is acts like these that remind them why they continue to do what they do amid all the disrespect they face within service industries today.

The four police officers also showed their own gratitude by leaving a hefty tip as well – far more than one would expect in return for such a kind gesture. We should all strive to be more like Zoe Rao and Arline Wood, who chose to make a difference in someone else’s life simply because it was the right thing to do. Kudos to them.
