The crime in DC is out of hand, as most of you know.
Yet, members of the city council wanted to lower criminal penalties.
Perhaps they will change their minds after a brutal attack against an aide for Senator Rand Paul (R-KY).
A Pit
I have been to DC and I can tell you, once you cross a certain barrier, the city is an absolute pit.
Make one wrong turn and you better keep looking over your shoulder until you get back to safer grounds.
The shocking thing about this particular attack is that it did not take part in one of the riskier parts of town.
The attack happened in a neighborhood less than two miles from the Capitol.
Unless my memory is betraying me, this part of town is packed with restaurants and shops, so it should have been a fairly busy area.
Yet, Paul’s aide received deep lacerations to his head after having been stabbed repeatedly.
Senator Paul stated, “This past weekend a member of my staff was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C.
“I ask you to join Kelley and me in praying for a speedy and complete recovery, and thanking the first responders, hospital staff, and police for their diligent actions.
“We are relieved to hear the suspect has been arrested.
“At this time we would ask for privacy so everyone can focus on healing and recovery.”
The police did arrest and charge 42-year-old Glynn Neal for the attack.
He has been charged with an “Assault with Intent to Kill (Knife) offense.”
