Impeachment

Report: Impeachment is Coming

He’s been defiant, braggadocious, dismissive, and angry. He is a wealthy elitist, heir to a political dynasty, and related by blood to one of the most prominent voices in the mainstream media. He is of course: Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York, likely to be a former Governor quite soon. Key Democrats in the New York State Assembly have finally drafted Articles of Impeachment against terrifying corrupt and powerful Governor of the Empire state. It will be New York’s first impeachment in over a century since William “Plain Bill” Sulzer was drummed out of office in 1913 by the corrupt Tammany Hall Democrats on charges of falsifying campaign finance records.

The sad and disgusting truth is that he’s being impeached for the sexual harassment of eleven women, not for the 15,000 people who died due to Cuomo’s disastrous policy of sending approximately 9,000 COVID19 positive patients to those nursing homes. Cuomo’s Department of Health’s order transformed these 62 nursing homes into disease-ridden death traps for vulnerable seniors.

The AG’s Report Has Come And Impeachment Is Coming

To say the report from Attorney General Letitia James was ‘devastating’ is a massive understatement. Containing interviews with 179 people and running a timeline from 2013 to 2020 the report found that Gov. Cuomo had committed sexual harassment “under federal and New York State law”.

In summary, the report read:

“Specifically, we find that the Governor sexually harassed a number of current and former New York State employees by, among other things, engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching, as well as making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women.

Our investigation revealed that the Governor’s sexually harassing behavior was not limited to members of his own staff, but extended to other State employees, including a State Trooper on his protective detail and members of the public.

We also conclude that the Executive Chamber’s culture—one filled with fear and intimidation, while at the same time normalizing the Governor’s frequent flirtations and gender-based comments—contributed to the conditions that allowed the sexual harassment to occur and persist. That culture also influenced the improper and inadequate ways in which the Executive Chamber has responded to allegations of harassment”

The situation for the besieged Governor is grim, The WashingtonNews.today reported,

“It took 179 witnesses and a statewide investigation by the Attorney General to hold one powerful man accountable—tell me again that New York doesn’t have a power problem,” Assembly Member Yuh-Line Niou said before adding the dagger, that she drafted Cuomo’s articles of impeachment.

“I had them drafted yesterday,” Niou said.

“These women were just trying to go through a day doing their jobs,” Niou said. “They never asked to be abused or harassed.”

State Senator Alessandra Biaggi said:

“I am calling on him to resign,” Biaggi tweeted. If Cuomo refuses, I am calling on [Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie] & the Assembly to move to impeach immediately.”

“The assembly needs to act,” she said. “Within the next day.”

According to The New York Post, the virtual meeting of the Assembly was a lengthy one with many of the lawmakers attending speaking out against Cuomo.

“One Assemblymember said “not a single voice of support” was expressed for Cuomo.

“I think all of us are reeling from the report as most of us did not expect this today …dozens spoke up,” the lawmaker said.”

Carl Heastie, Speaker of the New York State Assembly, a key Cuomo ally, and one of his constant defenders has flipped on his former patron under the massive weight of the 168 page Attorney General’s report, which shattered whatever support the Governor had left.

“After our conference this afternoon to discuss the Attorney General’s report concerning sexual harassment allegations against Governor Cuomo, it is abundantly clear to me that the Governor has lost the confidence of the Assembly Democratic majority and that he can no longer remain in office,” Heastie said.

“Once we receive all relevant documents and evidence from the Attorney General, we will move expeditiously and look to conclude our impeachment investigation as quickly as possible.”

Upon Cuomo’s resignation or his removal Democrat Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul will then become the first woman to hold the Governor’s office in New York. According to CBS6 Albany, AG Letitia James and the FBI are conducting investigations into the coverup of the 15,000 nursing home deaths as well. The sexual harassment investigation will find Cuomo removed as Governor, the COVID Nursing Home deaths and subsequent coverup, could land him in prison.
