The fallout from the chemical spill in Ohio is the last straw for Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL).
Rubio is now demanding the resignation of Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
At every turn, Buttigieg has been absent for transportation-related crises, and Rubio wants his head.
Resignation, Please
Rubio stated that Buttigieg has shown a “gross level of incompetence and apathy that is detrimental to the safety and prosperity of the American people.”
“For two years, Secretary Buttigieg downplayed and ignored crisis after crisis, while prioritizing topics of little relevance to our nation’s transportation system. It is painfully clear to the American people that Secretary Buttigieg has little regard for the duties of the Secretary of Transportation.”
It is time for @SecretaryPete to resign.

It is really tough to point to a single thing that Buttigieg has done right.
Remember the big shipping issue that resulted in a supply chain shortage?
Buttigieg was on maternity leave after picking up his adopted children and absent during most of the crisis.
Now, two weeks after a chemical spill, he still has not visited the area.
Now only that, he downplayed the derailment and the spill, and FEMA initially declined any federal help.
Rubio is right… Buttigieg has to go.
