The Vice President of Content for the Washington Commanders, formerly the Redskins, has been suspended after an undercover video emerged of him making shockingly disparaging comments about NFL players and fans.
An undercover video shared by James O’Keefe’s media company, O’Keefe Media Group, showed Washington Commanders VP of Content Rael Enteen making a series of controversial statements — including accusing the entire Commanders team of being homophobic — during several dates with an undercover journalist.
In one clip, he claimed: “Over 50 percent of our roster is either white religious — ‘and God says f—k the gays’ — another big chunk is very low-income African-American that comes from a community that is inherently very homophobic.”
He also called some NFL players “dumb as all hell” in the same clip.
Enteen’s shocking comments didn’t stop at attacks on his own team’s players, as he later criticized the entire NFL fanbase, suggesting that they are low-class degenerates.
“Most of the fans, I would say, are high-school-educated alcoholics… There’s fights in the stands all the time,” he said.
He was then asked whether the fans were “lower class people,” to which he responded, “I hate to use that term. I would just say mouth-breathers,” before laughing.
Enteen also made derogatory remarks about NFL leadership, even going so far as to refer to Commissioner Roger Goodell as a “$50 million puppet” controlled by the team owners — while also claiming that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is the one who “really runs the NFL” and arguing that Jones “hates gay people and black people.”
Of course, it came as no surprise to viewers that the Commanders VP who accused his entire team of homophobia, called NFL leadership homophobic and racist, and called fans uneducated also believed that the NFL’s social justice initiatives were not enough — dismissing them as “performative.”
“It’s not done out of the goodness of their heart and morality. It’s done because George Floyd changed the game,” Enteen said, claiming that the NFL’s focus on so-called “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) initiatives is more about their public image than actually embracing the radical ideology.
“I think the NFL cares about the bottom line like any corporation, above all else,” he added. “They don’t really need to pinch pennies because they have so much revenue. Therefore, they can faux-prioritize DEI for the sake of good publicity.”
