House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office has been discovered by house Republicans to be directly involved in the security plan during the January 6, 2021 riot that took place at the Capitol.

A mountain of internal communications consisting of text and email messages revealed the creation and editing of the failed Capitol security plan.

Back in December 2020, two key Pelosi staffers had attended meetings to discuss the Jan. 6 security plan. House Republican lawmakers had been excluded from the majority of said meetings.

The report said:

“Then-House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving—who served on the Capitol Police Board by virtue of his position—succumbed to political pressures from the Office of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leadership leading up to January 6, 2021. He coordinated closely with the Speaker and her staff and left Republicans out of important discussions related to security.”

The compiled report, which was just made public, concluded that the Democratic leadership failed to properly protect the Capitol, leaving it vulnerable to the riot that ensued.

The report stated:

“Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021. The Democrat-led investigation in the House of Representatives, however, has disregarded those institutional failings that exposed the Capitol to violence that day.”

There was also mentions of Capitol Police being warned of significant violence planned against lawmakers and the Capitol itself by protesters in mid-December.

“Prior to that day, the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) had obtained sufficient information from an array of channels to anticipate and prepare for the violence that occurred,” the report read.

The full report can be viewed here.

This report from House Republicans helps not only to shed light on the incident but also counters the Democrat narrative that ignored the security failures of both police and leadership.

Back in February 2021, Pelosi gave a story regarding the Jan. 6 riot, saying that she had “no power” over the security plan or Capitol Police.
