MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart hosted a panel discussion on his show that quickly devolved into mockery of Florida’s First Lady Casey DeSantis.
On the panel were former Republican congressman from Florida David Jolly and Tara Setmayer. They all three discussed Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife’s “Mamas for DeSantis” campaign commercial with little to no respect or consideration for what it was trying to accomplish.
"She's become America's Karen," @DavidJollyFL says about Casey DeSantis. "It doesn't matter if it's presented in heels or boots, the DeSantis doctrine is a losing one." https://t.co/Hn0POU398v pic.twitter.com/SmVXBqfzpy

The campaign commercial which was aired focused on issues that families face as kids are exposed to radical gender ideology and drag queen story hours in public schools and libraries, which are issues that Governor DeSantis has addressed both on the campaign trail and in his state—issues which he is passionate about.
After presenting the advertisement, Capehart voiced his displeasure asking for opinions from both Jolly and Setmayer.
Jolly went on to say that he thought Casey DeSantis was a “more effective” messenger than her husband but still thought she was emphasizing an unpopular message due to her delivery of it.
To this statement, all three members of the panel laughed while talking over each other and making jokes at Casey Desantis’ expense without actually discussing any part of what they call the “DeSantis doctrine.”
They claim it is a “losing doctrine” yet failed to provide any insight or evidence as to why they believe this is true.
Overall, this entire situation showcases how far some mainstream media networks will go in order to discredit those who do not agree with their political ideologies—even if it means going after family members instead of debating actual policy points or beliefs.
With no real discussion regarding topics being raised by Governor Ron Desantis or even First Lady Casey Desantis herself, one can only assume that MSNBC had an agenda when having these guests on their show–and unfortunately we saw them carry out said agenda with little respect towards anyone involved in the conversation.
