If polling stays where it is through election day, the GOP is going to get its butt handed to it by Democrats.

Forget a 50-50 split.

Democrats could be in a position to beat the filibuster if things keep going the way they are right now.

Oddly enough, Senate Minority Leader McConnell (R-KY) does not seem all that upset about it.

It Happens

McConnell is prepping the party that bad times are coming.

With five major battleground seats now turning blue, the GOP has very little chance of winning back the Senate.

Pennsylvania is about as lost as it gets barring a significant turnaround by Oz.

Rubio is now losing in Florida, Masters is losing in Arizona, and Walker is losing in Georgia.

To make matters worse, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), a twice-elected incumbent, is losing in Wisconsin.

Rubio is the only name of the bunch not in lock-step with Trump, so McConnell will gladly take this loss.

He stated, “I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate.

“Senate races are just different. They’re statewide.

“Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”

He said those words with a smile on his face because he predicted this would happen in April when he warned about Trump backing candidates simply because they bought into the election being stolen in 2020.

McConnell, at the time, stated, “In the Senate, if you look at where we have to compete in order to get into a majority, there are places that are competitive in the general election.

“So, you can’t nominate somebody who’s just sort of unacceptable to a broader group of people and win.

“We had that experience in 2010 and 2012.”

I am sure McConnell already has his big “I told you so” speech ready to go if it is Trump’s people that cost Republicans the Senate.
