The days leading up to Christmas are generally fairly quiet.
That will not be the case this year.
Democrats are scrambling to ram through legislation before the GOP takes over the House.
One of those pieces of legislation will be an omnibus spending bill, which Senator McConnell (R-KY) reportedly supports.

When news broke on Friday that a temporary spending bill went through, I thought maybe we got a break.
That news was tempered later in the day by news that Democrats had come to an agreement on a massive spending bill and it had Republican support.
The larger spending bill, which Democrats want to ram through before the new session, is a $1.65 trillion pig.
House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), she of the blue hair, announced that they had a framework in place and will be working with the Senate to finalize the language.
Backroom whispers are that McConnell already has the support in place to allow Dems to ram this through without needing reconciliation.
The problem is that the legislation, as usual, will be packed with earmarks and the GOP is giving away whatever leverage it has for the next session.
If this legislation does go through, it is yet more proof that McConnell must be removed from leadership.
