China has everyone tense over Taiwan on Wednesday. They have been issuing one diplomatic warning after another. Warnings that U.S. politicians and policy makers have been totally ignoring. Chinese dignitaries are highly offended by the meeting between the new House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, and the administrative head of their island territory.
Meeting raises Taiwan tension
Xi Jinping gets totally furious when he hears anyone call Tsai Ing-wen the “President” of Taiwan. He sent an aircraft carrier into strategic position on Tuesday, while the diplomats sent out another urgent warning not to make waves.
Their latest message was ignored once again and the meeting is underway in Los Angeles, at the time of this writing.
Everyone with an interest in the global chess game are on the edge of their seats, watching closely to see how China responds. The CCP say they plan something meant to grab Joe Biden’s attention. Ahead of her trip from Belize to U.S., Tsai Ing-wen got a secure briefing Tuesday evening.

Her senior security officials reported that they have a “regional situation” on their hands. Xi sailed a shiny new aircraft carrier into position in the middle of the Taiwan Strait.
According to an official statement, the “president asked relevant units to continue to grasp the surrounding situation, and to enable the visiting delegation to continue to grasp the situation in real time.”
In other words, Taiwan generals will stay on top of it and keep her posted. Officially, those on the call “included National Security Council secretary-general Wellington Koo and Foreign Minister Joseph Wu, both of whom are traveling with the president, as well as National Security Bureau Director-General Tsai Ming-yen, who has remained in the capital of Taipei.”
A real threat to national security
The disputed island territory also issued a statement from their Ministry of National Defense noting that “the Chinese Communist Navy’s Shandong fleet has crossed the Bashi Channel and passed through the southeast waters of Taiwan to start its first voyage training in the Western Pacific.”
That makes them very nervous. “The CCP’s continuous dispatch of aircraft and ships to harass the sea and airspace around Taiwan not only poses a real threat to our national security, but also undermines the status quo of regional security and stability.”
The phrase “status quo” has been getting a lot of focus because both sides are accusing the other of breaking it. China says we broke it when we let Nancy Pelosi drop in last year and are about to do it again.

Wednesday’s meeting with Kevin McCarthy is a slap in their face begging for a duel. One that might happen. China continues to insist that Taiwan belongs to them and they will take it back by force if necessary. Maybe starting today.
The reason Taiwan is such a big deal is because that’s where all our microchips come from. Not only that, a whole lot of international cargo sails through the local waterway every day.
The Taiwanese delegation stands defiant, vowing “external pressure will not hinder our determination to go global.” Meanwhile, China reminded everyone that there will most definitely be “retaliation” if the meeting takes place. It has. The ball’s in Xi’s court.
