For months, the White House has attacked the GOP on the basis that it wanted to end social security and Medicare.

That, however, was never the case.

Republicans have made proposals that would change how these programs are funded and evaluated, however.

After House Speaker McCarthy provided some clarity on this, the White House just about lost its mind.

Not Being Touched

McCarthy was adamant that these programs will not be touched.

Additionally, the House Chair that would oversee such changes also confirmed the programs are safe.

The White House, of course, was not happy with that statement.

So, the administration responded, “For years, congressional Republicans have advocated for slashing earned benefits using Washington code words like ‘strengthen,’ when their policies would privatize Medicare and Social Security, raise the retirement age, or cut benefits.

“House Republicans refuse to raise revenue from the wealthy, but insist they will ‘strengthen’ earned benefits programs.”

A mild twisting of the facts, to put it lightly.

This is just sour grapes after one of their talking points was taken away from them.
