It’s the race for the Senate seat in Nevada and it’s heating up!

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Tony Grady has thrown his hat into the ring to unseat incumbent Senator Jacky Rosen in 2024, joining a growing wave of Republicans vying for the nomination.

Tony Grady is a veteran of the United States Air Force, businessman, pilot for FedEx, and former candidate for lieutenant governor in 2022.

His announcement video depicts him during his time in service while describing his campaign platform: “United States of America present day — crime, illegal immigration, inflation. And now Washington elites want to choose our candidate? Not a chance. Tony Grady — warrior, commander conservative.”

He has also expressed that he will be advocating for parental rights in education and is pro-life and pro-Second Amendment according to his campaign website.

Grady was second place in last year’s GOP primary after current Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony where he lost by nearly 6 points according to Ballotpedia.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), which is the Senate GOP’s campaign arm, is focusing on more moderate candidates with electability being top priority after numerous losses during the midterm election cycle.

Other notable candidates include decorated Army veteran Sam Brown who has already outraised other candidates, former state lawmaker Jim Marchant, former Trump administration Ambassador to Iceland Jeff Gunter, Barry Lindemann, William Conrad, Ronda Kennedy, and Stephanie Phillips.

All of these candidates are running against each other with hopes of becoming their party’s nominee come 2024 when voters go to polls once again.

According to The Cook Political Report characterizes Senator Rosen’s Senate seat as “lean D” meaning she would most likely win if no major changes occur between now and then but anything can happen leading up until Election Day.
