Man Punched, Strangled and Sexually Assaulted 10-year-old During Home Invasion…Then Dad Steps in

A man punched, strangled, and sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl during a home invasion, but he wasn’t counting on the relentless pursuit of the girl’s father. He wanted justice for his little princess, and due to his tenacity, he was able to get it!

Bond has now been set for a suburban man who has been accused of punching, strangling, and sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl after he broke into her home last January. He wasn’t content with just punching her; he strangled and sexually assaulted her too.

Teodoro Garcia, 29, of Addison, IL has now been charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault on a victim under 13 and one count of home invasion causing injury.

Prosecutors allege that it was about 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd that Garcia snuck into the 10-year-old girl’s house and found her and her siblings in the house.

The victim was in her bedroom playing with a sibling when Garcia allegedly came into the room. Prosecutors reported that Garcia told the sibling to leave the room, and after they left, Garcia began assaulting the victim, ordering her to remove her clothes.

The victim said no and began fighting back.

That is when Garcia strangled and sexually assaulted her, starting by punching her in the face.

He had his way with the victim, starting with removing her clothes.

When the parents came home, the man was still there and he was hiding in a bathroom inside the home until one of the victim’s siblings discovered him.

The father of the victim went into the bathroom and quickly confronted Garcia, but he swung a knife at him and soon fled from the house.

It was on January 30th that the victim and her parents saw Garcia walking down the street and they called the police on him. The relentless father caught up with Garcia, detaining him until the police arrived to arrest him.

“The allegations against Mr. Garcia are beyond disturbing,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. “This young girl, her siblings, and her parents have every right to feel safe in their home. It is alleged that Mr. Garcia violated the sanctity their home provided in the worst possible way.”

DuPage County set the bond at $1 million for Garcia. He will have his next court appearance on March 3.
