A leftist staffer at the University of Oregon openly called on Trump supporters to kill themselves in a video he posted to social media.
The video was shared on Instagram by University of Oregon assistant director of fraternity and sorority life Leonard Louis Serrato on Wednesday following President Donald Trump’s landslide victory against Vice President Kamala Harris. Serrato has since made his Instagram account private.
In the video, Serrato describes himself as a “proudly petty person” before launching into an incredibly unhinged tirade about Trump supporters.
“I’m done crying. My sadness is over. My anger has set in. I’m saying this in the most disrespectful way possible — I don’t care if you are my family, I don’t care if you are my friend, I don’t care if we’ve been friends our entire lives — You can literally go f—k yourself if you voted for Donald Trump,” the leftist staffer said.
“If you are so sad about your groceries being expensive, get a f—king better paying job,” Serrato added. “Do better in life. Get a f—king education. Do something, cause you are f—king stupid. And I hope that you go jump off of a f—king bridge.’

Initially, a University of Oregon spokesperson defended Serrato’s unhinged comments about Trump supporters in a statement to the university’s newspaper, The Daily Emerald, which read: “At this time, it appears that the individual made the post on their own time, which is well within their rights.”
However, it has since been confirmed that Serrato was placed on administrative leave. According to a Thursday email sent to Oregon state Rep. Ed Diehl(R), the University of Oregon’s legislative official explained that they had placed Serrato on leave pending further investigation.
“The video is absolutely abhorrent and against our values. The employee is on admin leave while an investigation takes place on the matter,” the university official said in the email, which was shared by Diehl on X.
Just got this from the university legislative person:
"Representative,
Thank you for the email. I just left a message on your office line with action being taken. I’m happy to have a conversation today with you if you’d like more information about where things stand. My cell…

This is not the first time that Serrato was in hot water — as he was sentenced to 90 days in jail, three years of probation, and 90 days in an adult work offender program back in September 2014 for his role in the hazing death of an 18-year-old fraternity pledge at Fresno State University in 2012, according to court documents. This news is especially shocking considering the University of Oregon hired him to oversee fraternities. Serrato was a 30-year-old undergraduate student at the time, had purchased alcohol for the hazing event, and had forced pledge Phillip Dhanens to drink dozens of shots. Dhanens was later found dead with a blood alcohol level of 0.4 because of the hazing.
