Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) had quickly gained a reputation as someone that does not like to be in DC for congressional votes.
During the pandemic, Boebert was atop the list of Republicans that took advantage of Pelosi’s absentee voting policies.
Now she is just missing votes, but she has found a rather interesting way to flip the script on that narrative.
Crap Sandwich
Boebert did not bother showing up in DC for the vote on the debt ceiling legislation.
She had hammered Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) on the legislation, but she was not present for the vote.
Axios Capitol Hill reporter Juliegrace Brufke had reported that Boebert arrived at the Capitol late that day.
According to Brufke’s report, Boebert was running up the steps of the Capitol just as the vote had been completed.

Call it a protest — there’s absolutely no way to ever justify adding another $4-6 trillion in debt.

Democrat Adam Frisch, who in 2022 lost his bid to unseat Ms Boebert in Colorado’s third district by just 546 votes, wrote on Twitter: “How can you represent #CO03 when you don’t even show up? What was more important than voting?”
I was hoping that Boebert would have learned her lesson after such a close vote in the last election, but that does not appear to be the case.
I like Boebert, but I have a feeling that her political career is going to be short-lived if this keeps up.
