Key Red State Suffers CRUSHING DEFEAT

Kansas did what should be done in every state.

It left abortion restrictions up to the voters.

The vote, however, did not go as planned, and that would be because of our ridiculous election finance laws.

Struck Down

Since Roe was struck down, I have advocated for every state to put abortion on the ballot.

I do not believe this should be left to politicians; instead, it should be handed over to the people to let them decide.

When Kansas put a referendum on the ballot, I was pretty sure that abortion restrictions would be implemented.

Kansas is a reliably red state in presidential elections and has been for decades, so I was shocked to learn this was voted down.

Then I looked into it.

Kansans for Constitutional Freedom (KCF), a group that states it is a “bipartisan coalition of reproductive rights advocates and allied organizations,” received slightly more than $6.5 million in donations.

Of that money, 71 percent came from out-of-state, with 22 percent from in and out-of-state abortion providers and lobbyists.

Why are groups outside of Kansas permitted to donate to a group pushing a referendum in Kansas?

In my opinion, this should be the same as local candidates, where we should restrict all local races to local money and ban PACs.

Money wins elections… plain and simple, and this is how people like George Soros influence elections.

To put this in perspective, the pro-life group in Kansas that was in favor of the restrictions received 99 percent of its money from Kansans.

The system is broken, my friends, very, very broken.
