As the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election continues to remain contested, Republican Kari Lake has her sights set on a possible 2024 U.S. Senate run in Arizona.
At The Family Leadership Summit in Iowa, Lake expressed that she believes she is the only candidate who could win the upcoming race and vowed to make a decision by this fall.
With an impressive 28 point lead in one survey, it’s clear that many Arizonans are ready for Kari Lake to take charge.
A recent poll conducted by JL Partners from April 10-12 indicated that despite not announcing her plans to run for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s (I-Ariz.) seat, 38% of registered Arizona Republicans and undeclared voters would vote for Kari Lake if given the opportunity.
Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb came in second place with 10% support while 2022 Arizona Senate Candidate Blake Masters and 2022 Arizona Attorney General candidate Abraham Hamadeh followed with 7% and 4%, respectively—all of which were endorsed by former President Donald Trump last year during their primaries as well.
Karrin Taylor Robson may have lost the GOP gubernatorial primary to Lake last year, but it appears as though there will be no hard feelings between the two when it comes time for voting season next year should Lake decide on running for office.
Last month, Lakes teased what’s in store for her future through social media posts and interviews as speculation increases that she could be eyeing a U.S Senate run next year.
Much of Lake’s popularity coming from her cozy relationship with former President Donald Trump whom she has wholeheartedly supported and unabashedly defended throughout his presidency term.
In addition, a judge recently ruled he wouldn’t block any attempts made by Lakes to access ballot affidavit envelopes from last years election due to potential fraudulent activities leading up to her defeat—putting even more emphasis on why many people believe this may be Lakes time to shine.
