The alleged killer of New York City poet and activist Ryan Carson has finally been caught.
Brian Dowling, 18, has been taken into custody for this senseless murder.
Dowling’s image was captured on surveillance video, so it was only a matter of time before police picked him up.
Brutal and Senseless
Carson and his companion were sitting on a bench when Dowling passed them.
He went down to the corner and just started randomly knocking over scooters.
While this was happening, Carson and his companion started walking down the street.
When they approached the corner, Dowling confronted them in a rage and just went crazy.
After words were exchanged, Dowling pulled a knife and allegedly stabbed Carson, leaving him in a pool of blood on the sidewalk.
He then lunged at Carson’s companion, spit in her face, and ran away.
Dowling’s girlfriend can be seen in the video apologizing, then, in a really bizarre moment, Carson’s companion tells the girl to go watch Dowling before attending to Carson.
Carson was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny explained, “The knife pierces Mr. Carson’s heart, causing his death.
“As Mr. Carson lay dying on the sidewalk, the male with the knife kicks him in the chest, threatens to stab the woman companion and spits in her face.”
Dowling was in tears when he was taken into custody, realizing his little tantrum may wind up putting a needle in his arm.
