The grassroots campaign of first-time Senate candidate and Army veteran Sam Brown has announced that his latest fundraising figures show his bid for the GOP nomination in Nevada is “here to stay.”

Sam Brown, a retired Army captain, received a Purple Heart after sustaining serious injuries from an IED explosion during a deployment to Afghanistan in 2008, leaving his face severely burned.

Brown reportedly raised over $1.05 million in the fourth quarter of fundraising in 2021, from October through December. That makes it the second straight quarter that his campaign raised just over $1 million.

According to Brown’s campaign, the donations came from over 15,000 donors in the past three months, that’s up from 12,000 during the previous quarter. The campaign is now predicting that they are on track to bring in $4 million by Nevada’s primary, which takes place on June 14th.

“Last quarter, we showed America that we had started a movement for new conservative leadership,” Brown told Fox News in a statement.

“Now, we have shown that this movement is here to stay,” he continued. “We are the only Nevada Senate campaign of either party with this type of massive grassroots following. We aren’t funded by the Washington political class or PACs seeking a coronation. Thousands of patriots in Nevada and across America have rallied and donated to our campaign because they want new grassroots leadership that is accountable to the people.”

Brown will have one challenge to face: former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, who announced his candidacy for the Senate in mid-August. Laxalt, an Iraq War veteran, was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, and has the backing of other top Republicans such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.
