Governor Admits Defeat Following Liberal Meltdown

Colorado

Colorado governor Jared Polis put out a statement appearing to back down in the face of demands from furious sanctuary city mayors. It’s nothing but misdirection because the numbers of migrants being drop shipped to New York City and Chicago will stay the same as they are now. The only difference is the migrants will each get a ticket individually, instead of the state chartering a bunch of buses.

Colorado playing sneaky tricks

When Colorado Governor Jared Polis pulled the Republican trick of shuffling asylees to New York and Chicago, his sanctuary inclined counterparts cried foul.

He’s supposed to be a Democrat running a sanctuary state and this is how he treats fellow progressives? Why can’t he do his part and take a huge financial hit, like they are?

On January 7, Polis appeared to back down. He issued a big public statement saying Colorado “would no longer charter buses of migrants to New York City and Chicago.

Politico points out his move to duck responsibility “irked the mayors of both cities and led to a public war of words among the three Democrats last week.

In the statement, Polis soothed Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot with a promise that “there were no more buses for migrants scheduled to arrive in her city from Denver.” Colorado put a similar hold on migrants bound for the Big Apple.

Polis “informed New York City Mayor Eric Adams that the last bus of asylum seekers would arrive Sunday.” That is only half the story but it sounds good on CNN.

Their final destination

When his phone melted from upset liberal constituents badgering him about acting like a centrist DINO Republican in disguise, Polis decided to act like he was caving in and ready to shelter migrants all across Colorado. It is only smoke and mirrors spin and public relations. He can’t afford to feed and house all the invaders.

People fleeing violence and oppression in search of a better life for themselves and their families deserve our respect not political games,” Polis declares. Then, starts playing political games in the rest of the sentence. He was sure to add that “we are grateful we have been able to assist migrants to reach their final destination.

That, right there, is the key to his whole strategy. The problem isn’t the buses he chartered. Invading migrants simply don’t like Colorado. Most wanted to go to Chicago and New York so Polis helped them out.

He’ll send them anywhere they want to go. That means he’ll be buying a bunch of bus tickets. To New York City and Chicago. He can’t help it if that’s where they want to go. “We refuse to keep people against their will if they desire to travel elsewhere.

Lightfoot and Adams made a big public deal out of the controversy with a letter demanding he stop the buses. “You must stop busing migrants to Chicago and New York City. In the case of family reunification, let us work together to ensure that people are reconnected with their loved ones, however sending migrants to our cities whose systems are over capacity, where they may struggle to find shelter and other services is wrong and further victimizes these most vulnerable individuals.

Migrants have the same problem in Denver, Colorado. The struggle to find shelter and other services is just as fierce there. Migrants are still going to be bused out to New York and Chicago but they’ll leave the driving to Greyhound.
