A girl on girl brawl in the bathroom of a banquet hall sent one woman to the hospital, while police are still searching for the second woman.

At around 11 p.m. on October 4th, police were called to the CD&ME banquet hall in Frankfort, Illinois, for a battery call. Upon arriving, the hall’s security informed them that a “physical altercation” had occurred in the women’s bathroom between two females.

Only one of the women was present when the police arrived, 41 year old Denise Nardoni, who was suffering from a bloody nose and fat lip.

According to a witness, the women began fighting over a sweater. The woman who fled the scene had struck Nardoni, knocking her to the ground, then left the venue with the sweater.

Nardoni was brought to Silver Cross for treatment, as she had suffered several broken bones in her nose as well as a deviated septum.

The fight began when Nardoni was exiting a bathroom stall. The unknown woman confronted her about the sweater that was wrapped around her shoulders, saying that it belonged to her. According to Nardoni, she had gotten cold earlier that night and one of her friends had put the sweater on her. She had assumed the sweater belonged to that friend.

Nardoni claims that she did not provoke the brawl, but has admitted that she wishes she had just handed the sweater back.

“People should not have to go through this. Especially in a community where you do see so many heartwarming people out there, so many people that want to help. And then to have this happen over something so minor. It’s ridiculous. And as hard as it is for me to go public about it, I’m doing it because I believe she should be charged so it doesn’t happen to anyone else,” she said.

Officers are still trying to identify the unknown woman who attacked Nardoni.

According to the co-owner of CD&ME, Dean Vaundry, his venue is covered in surveillance cameras, and has both security and washroom attendants during their live music events.

“They stay for a period of time after the band is over, but they happened to be gone then,” said Vaundry.”We are we are looking at everything that we can do so that this never happens again.”

The venue is fully cooperating with police, providing them with pictures and surveillance videos. The investigation is currently ongoing.
