This is not something the GOP needs right now.
More than 1,000 absentee ballots that had been requested were never mailed out in a decidedly blue county.
A lawsuit has been filed and Democrats are already crying foul.
Dumb Mistake
This is just pure idiocy on the part of the local election officials responsible for getting these ballots out.
The good news is that of the more than 1,000 ballots that were not mailed, about 250 of those people already cast a vote through early voting.
The bad news is that the ACLU has already filed a lawsuit to request ballots and extend the voting deadline for these voters.
Local officials need to do everything in their power to ensure these individuals are able to cast a vote.
The last thing we need is fodder to feed Stacey Abrams’ narrative that voters in minority areas are being suppressed.
Then, once the election is over, fire the official who oversees that aspect of the operation.
They had one job, and they failed, so they do not deserve to have any job.
