George Clooney Offers Surprising Message To Trump

Notably anti-Trump actor George Clooney offered a surprising message to President Donald Trump during a recent appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

Despite being a Democrat and throwing his support behind failed Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, Clooney surprisingly offered Trump well wishes during the TV appearance.

Speaking with radical leftist “comedian” Stephen Colbert, Clooney began by discussing his history as a “Democrat in Kentucky” and how his preferred candidates had won or lost over the past few decades, then pivoted to discussing Trump’s victory, though he did not mention the president by name.

“So, I’ve had a lot of fun in my life,” the actor said. “It has been nothing but fun. I have lost a lot of elections.”

He then gave an example of one of those losses, noting that he supported former President Jimmy Carter in the election that he lost to former President Ronald Reagan.

“The first time I voted it was 1980. I was a Carter guy and Reagan won,” Clooney said.

“This is democracy. This is how it works,” he added.

Colbert then jokingly asked Clooney how the election results were for him this time, pretending that he was unaware of which candidate the actor supported in 2024.

“Well, I don’t know, what am I supposed to do? Storm the f—king Capitol?” Clooney replied, laughing. “It didn’t work out. That’s what happens. It’s part of democracy. There are people who agree and disagree, and most of us still like each other, we’re all going to get through it.”

He then offered his message for Trump: “Good for you. Go. I hope you do well because our country needs it, and then we will meet you in 3.5 years and see where we go next. That’s part of the thing.”

Clooney’s comments were especially surprising considering how he inserted himself into the 2024 election in a big way — as he allegedly was at least partially responsible for former President Joe Biden dropping out of the race. Amid the Democrats’ pressure campaign to get Biden to drop out after his disastrous debate performance, Clooney published an op-ed in the New York Times praising Biden for his service while at the same time calling on him to drop out.

“We are not going to win in November with this president,” Clooney wrote at the time. He then demanded that top Democrats “ask this president to voluntarily step aside,” adding that Biden could “save democracy” by dropping out.
