The first week of ratings are in for Fox News in the post-Tucker Carlson era.
Let’s just say it is not good.
After Fox and Carlson parted ways, so did the viewers.
Not Watching
Monday night’s show was hosted by Brian Kilmeade, and it was short about 500,000 viewers from the Carlson finale.
Things only worsened as the week went on, with Fox shedding more viewers each night.
Fox also got clobbered in the 25-54 demographic.
In fact, that particular demographic was reportedly the worst it has been since after the 9/11 attack.
Fox seemed to believe that it could put anyone in that spot and they would thrive.
After all, the network survived Megyn Kelly and Bill O’Reilly leaving in that time slot, just to name a few.
Carlson, however, has a very loyal base and I don’t know if they are watching other networks, but they are clearly not watching Fox News.
Fox still has Carlson under contract through the 2024 election season, so unless they work a deal, he cannot work for anyone else or even do his own thing.
But sitting at home getting paid about $8 million a year is not exactly tough to deal with.
