This man wanted to be unruly with the police, and so they had no choice but to taser him. He was tased so hard he caught on fire!
This was due to some graphic surveillance footage from the Catskill Police Department in New York, showing the moment that an agitated man was struck by a taser and he was suddenly caught on fire.
On October 30, 2021, 29-year-old Jason Jones entered the Catskill Police Department and started having a verbal altercation with three police officers. During the altercation, Jones proceeded to strip almost all of his clothes off and became aggressive toward the police officers.
As shown in the video, Jones exits the screen and then promptly re-enters it, picking up a large bottle of hand sanitizer. Jones can be observed dousing himself with the sanitizer even though police were shouting verbal comments for him to stop.
However, despite the best efforts of the police, Jones was still refusing to comply after more than 30 minutes. Although the initial ignition of the flames appears off-screen, the look on the faces of these officers basically tells all. These men in blue literally show extreme panic as they realize that the combustion from the hand sanitizer and the taser leads to the man being on fire. Despite their best efforts, the officers are unable to extinguish the fire, and all three officers scattered from the front lobby.
They later took Jones to a nearby medical facility and treated him for his injuries. However, Jones would ultimately pass away on December 15, 2021.
