The death of Cayler Ellingson is now suddenly in the national spotlight.
That was hardly the story when he was allegedly run down about a week ago about by Shannon Brandt.
Trump covered the death during his recent rally, going nuclear about the fact the mainstream media failed to cover the story.
Shameful
According to reports at the time of the murder, Brandt and Ellingson got into a heated political argument.
This eventually led to Brandt allegedly running over Ellingson and killing him.
No major TV news outlet covered the story when the killing happened except for Fox News.
The biggest print publications also skipped the story.
Why? That would be because Brandt made Ellingson out to be a right-wing extremist during his police statement.
That statement has since been debunked, with North Dakota Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind stating, “There is no evidence to support the claim Brandt made about Ellingson.”
Trump stated, “Just recently, a young 18-year-old man from North Dakota … was targeted and killed, run down in cold blood with an SUV by a radical left maniac.
“This guy ran him down and not one mainstream media network has even mentioned this horrible crime. Think of it now. Think of it the other way.”
Trump added, “You people should be ashamed of yourselves. You should be ashamed of yourself.
“And our hearts go out to the parents and the friends.
“This young boy, this was a young man. Wonderful, with a great future.
“And I’m just telling you, just so handsome and so beautiful and so great.
“And he got run down by a radical left nut job here.”
Sadly, Trump’s comments about the coverage of the killing got more press than the initial attack.
Since then, several outlets have covered the story, but it has been done minimally.
We all know how this would have been covered had it been a conservative behind the wheel and a BLM member on the wrong side of the car.
Trump is right… today’s media is a disgrace.
