Last week, the CPAC convention was taking place.
It was one of the lowest-attended events that I have seen since I have been covering politics.
DeSantis was one of those that was missing because he apparently had better things to do.

DeSantis’ new book is out and it is crushing it.
“The Courage to be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival” flew to the top of the Amazon Best Seller list just about as soon as it went on sale.
DeSantis decided to make an unannounced stop at a local Buc-ee’s store to give away and sign his book.
The stop went over amazingly well, as social media was blowing up with pictures of DeSantis shaking hands with shoppers.
DeSantis has not yet announced, but he is the favorite along with Donald Trump to win the GOP nomination.
DeSantis has committed to the next legislative session, so he will not be announcing anytime soon.
The speculation right now is that he will not announce until May or June, when the legislative session wraps up.
The only way I think he would do it sooner is if the Florida legislature comes through by rewriting the law that calls for officeholders to resign to run for another office.
