Violent attacks on U.S. military bases in the Middle East continue, as the most recent attack took place overnight and again Tuesday morning, November 7, in Irbil, Iraq. The umbrella organization of Iranian-backed Iraqi militants groups, the Islamic Resistance, has claimed responsibility for the recent attacks.
A multi-drone assault occurred overnight at the airbase close to the city’s commercial airport. A single drone was used for Tuesday morning’s attack according to a defense official who preferred to remain anonymous due to their unauthorized discussion of the strikes.
Thankfully, there were no injuries to personnel or damage to infrastructure reported after the strikes. Commercial flights near the area were briefly suspended due to the attack as a precautionary measure.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted four American bases so far within the past hours:

This is part of an ongoing series of attacks by Iran-backed militants against US bases in both Iraq and Syria due to America’s support for Israel during their conflict with Hamas in Gaza Strip. As of now, there have been at least 40 such strikes since October 17th.
Other targets included Al-Harir base in Irbil province and Green Village base in eastern Syria—both of which were also claimed by Islamic Resistance as successful hits on Tuesday morning however, no reports could be found regarding these alleged attacks according to said defense official.
It is clear that this latest spate of violence poses a significant risk to American forces stationed in both Iraq and Syria, as well as their coalition partners.
This is a developing story.
