Reality TV Star Stabbed To Death In California

Breaking: Reality TV Star Stabbed To Death

Amid California’s skyrocketing crime problem, a reality TV star was reportedly stabbed to death inside his apartment in Palm Springs.

Eduardo Xol, the 58-year-old designer who starred in ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” died on Thursday at the Desert Regional Medical Center over one week after being stabbed in his apartment.

Riverside County Police are currently investigating the stabbing after police found the reality TV star inside his Palm Springs apartment with significant injuries from a stabbing on September 10. Xol reportedly called the police for help following the attack.

The reality TV star was immediately rushed to a local hospital and was listed in serious but stable condition, but later died on September 19 from his wounds.

While police have not officially identified Xol’s attacker as of Wednesday afternoon, reports indicate that 34-year-old Richard Joseph Gonzales had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the reality TV star’s stabbing, according to TMZ. Police reportedly zeroed in on Gonzales as a suspect after he called 911 the same day that Xol was found stabbed, claiming that he had been the victim of an assault the previous night. Gonzales has been taken into custody and booked at the John Benoit Detention Center and is being held without bail.

Xol’s mother issued a statement to TMZ confirming his death and mourning his loss.

“We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol,” the reality TV star’s family told TMZ. “We know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many. We ask for that kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief.”

“In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America as he spent so much of his life in the service of others,” Xol’s family added.

Xol’s death comes as California is facing a serious problem with rising crime, with Breitbart News noting in their report about Xol that “cities in the Democrat-controlled state of California have been plagued with crime waves in recent years, as residents flee the state.”
