Canadian Authorities in Ontario came down hard on the stalwart group of Freedom Convoy protesters who remained behind at the Ambassador Bridge as hundreds of demonstrators withdrew from the major border crossing into Windsor from Detroit. In the early morning hours of Feb 12th Canadian police began making arrests. According to CTVNews Canada “Windsor Police Chief Pamela Mizuno said officers had made between 25 and 30 arrests, seized five vehicles that day and towed seven vehicles the day before in an effort to clear protesters from the area.” The arrests reportedly continued into the following day and led to the re-opening of the bridge.

On the orders of Ontario Premier Doug Ford and authoritarian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who chose to kneel down to Black Lives Matter protestors who were rioting and burning 120 different American cities for over 180 days, decided that the appropriate way to deal with the peaceful, uplifting, non-violent protests in his own nation was to unleash the disgraced Doug Ford (elder brother of Fmr. Toronto Mayor and Coke addict Rob Ford) and his jackbooted thugs against them.
Multiple independent journalists reported as protesters were pulled from the vehicles and arrested with their vehicles towed away. The situation is absolutely appalling.
“Today, our national economic crisis at the Ambassador Bridge came to an end,” said Windsor’s Mayor Drew Dilkens, who expressed hope that the bridge would reopen Sunday. “Border crossings will reopen when it is safe to do so and I defer to police and border agencies to make that determination,” Dilkens added.

Protesters Arrests Just Are Begining
Trudeau Is Seeking Emergency Powers
Following the police action against the protesters on the Ambassador Bridge, Trudeau will reportedly invoke the Canadian “Emergencies Act” effectively allowing him to bypass the civil liberties of the Canadian demonstrators (such as they are.) allowing the Government “the imposition
-
(i) on summary conviction, of a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or imprisonment not exceeding six months or both that fine and imprisonment, or
-
(ii) on indictment, of a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars or imprisonment not exceeding five years or both that fine and imprisonment,
for contravention of any order or regulation made under this section.”
The Emergencies act very clearly stipulates that “such special temporary measures, would be subject to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Bill of Rights ” which would provide the Canadians some protection, wouldn’t it? No. Not really.

The Canadians believe they’ll be protected under their Constitution’s Charter of Freedoms, However, Where the US Bill of Rights ” implicitly recognizes the pre-existence” of our rights and freedoms, the Canadian counterpart presupposes the Government (or the Crown if you will) possessing the right to prescribe reasonable limits upon them as can be “demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society” which is so fluid and so subjective a measure that it can be rendered effectively meaningless as a barrier to an authoritarian government’s whims. It’s little surprise that it was signed into law by Justin Trudeau’s father during his tenure as Prime Minister.
“The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.”
Meaning quite simply that ANY ‘rights’ or ‘freedoms’ that the Canadian people enjoy de facto must be deemed as subject only to such reasonable limits as Parliament, the Government, and the Courts decide.
