Breaking: Mysterious Flying Object Spotted Over US Soil

There have been new reports of the U.S. military tracking another mysterious balloon flying over American soil.

According to three U.S. officials, it remains unclear what exactly the balloon is, whom it belongs to and what purpose it serves.

The object was seen flying across Hawaii, but luckily did not float over any sensitive regions.

It is said that the military has been tracking the balloon since last week and has come to the determination that it does not pose any threat to aerial traffic or U.S. national security.

Officials remain unsure of the objects purpose but added that the U.S. could still shoot it down if it gets near land or poses a threat.

At this time, the object has been seen moving towards Mexico, with no clear indications of maneuverability.

And while officials are still uncertain of the balloon’s owner, they do not believe the object belongs to China.

Any questions regarding the object have been referred to the Defense Department.

A Pentagon spokesperson released a statement on May 1 regarding the balloon, that is currently floating at 36,000 feet and has “no indication that it was maneuvering or being controlled by a foreign or adversarial actor. The balloon did not transit directly over defense critical infrastructure or other U.S. Government sensitive sites, nor did it pose a military or physical threat to people on the ground.”

An Indo-Pacific Command spokesperson stated:

“U.S. Indo-Pacific Command responded to an unidentified radar signature Friday in the vicinity of the island of Hawaii. Pacific Air Forces launched three F-22s to assess the situation and visually identified a spherical object. We monitored the transit of the object and assessed that it posed no threat.”
