House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) announced on Friday that the committee is in the process of investigating Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, far-left Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, over his “extensive” ties to communist China.
Comer sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding documents and communications pertaining to Walz’s extensive academic and business ties to communist China.
“It has come to the Committee’s attention that Governor Walz has longstanding connections to CCP-connected entities and officials that make him susceptible to the Party’s strategy of elite capture, which seeks to co-opt influential figures in elite political, cultural, and academic circles to influence the United States to the benefit of the communist regime and the detriment of Americans,” the Oversight Committee chairman wrote.
Comer went on to explain that the “Committee seeks information about the Chinese entities and officials Governor Walz has engaged and partnered with, as well as any warnings or advice the FBI may have given to Governor Walz about U.S. political figures being targeted by or recruited for CCP influence operations.”
Evidence of Walz’s alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party include him having visited China at least 30 times, with the first visit being a trip in the 1980s that was funded by the Chinese government, where he brought his high school students along. Comer also cited Walz’s position as a fellow at China’s Macao Polytechnic University while he was serving in Congress. According to the university’s website, it promotes “devotion to and love for the motherland.”
🚨Americans deserve to fully understand how deep Governor Walz’s relationship with China goes.👇

“Despite bipartisan efforts to identify and defeat CCP unrestricted warfare against America, Governor Walz continues problematic engagement with concerning entities and individuals,” Comer added. “In March 2024, he met with Consul General Zhao Jian to discuss ‘China-U.S. relations and sub-national cooperation.’”
The Oversight Committee chairman also questioned Wray as to whether the FBI had ever stepped in to brief Walz about interactions with Chinese Communist Party-connected entities or officials from the Chinese government.
Comer demanded that Wray hand over any communications or documents related to more than a dozen entities Walz is potentially connected to, including China’s Ministry of Public Security, Macao Polytechnic University, the National Association for China’s Peaceful Unification, the U.S. China People’s Friendship Association, and the United States China Heartland Association.
GREAT WALZ OF CHINA
— Walz has visited China 30 times
— After Walz's first trip, he spread Chinese propaganda
— Walz got married on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre because he always wanted to remember the date
— For his honeymoon, he went back to China, and… pic.twitter.com/mkuR9t0IoZ

Meanwhile, the Harris-Walz campaign has desperately tried to defend his extensive ties to China, claiming that Walz has “always” put America first.
“Throughout his career, Governor Walz has stood up to the CCP, fought for human rights and democracy, and always put American jobs and manufacturing first,” campaign spokesman James Singer said. “Vice President Harris and Governor Walz will ensure we win the competition with China, and will always stand up for our values and interests in the face of China’s threats.”
Despite their best efforts at defending his behavior, Walz’s actions are extremely suspicious, especially because that initial trip to China with his high school students was supposed to be Walz’s honeymoon with his wife. Even more shocking is the fact that Walz got married on the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre because he wanted a date he would “always remember.”
“Tim Walz went to China right after the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989 and took his honeymoon there in 1994,” commentator Jack Posobiec noted in a post on X. “He and his wife then opened a Chinese exchange program business.”
