A woman in her fifties — later identified as former Kardashian business manager Angela “Angie” Kukawski — was found dead in the trunk of a car parked in Simi Valley, just north of Los Angeles, California.
Simi Valley police worked alongside the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to arrest an alleged murder suspect on December 23rd after discovering that the man had allegedly transported Kukawski’s body to the neighborhood in the trunk of a car.
LAPD officers originally contacted the Simi Valley police at around 2 a.m. to inform them that they were en route to investigate a murder that had been reported in the Van Nuys neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Approximately one hour later, the LAPD informed the local police that they had found the suspect’s vehicle on the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue in Simi Valley.
In the trunk of that car, LAPD officers found the body of Angela Kukawski, who had been killed by a single stab wound, according to reports.
Kukawski, whose high-net worth clients included Nicki Minaj, was a Los Angeles-based business manager who worked at Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills.
In a statement to Variety, Boulevard Management’s Todd C. Bozick said, “We are saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Angie Kukawski. Angie was a kind, wonderful person, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our deepest condolences go out to all of Angie’s family and friends.”
The suspect, who has since been identified as Kukawski’s 49 year old boyfriend, Jason Barker, allegedly drove from Van Nuys to the home of a relative in the Simi Valley, according to police officers. LAPD arrested him at that residence in connection with her death.
There are no other threats to Simi Valley residents at this time, said Officer Casey Nicholson, a Simi Valley division spokesman.
