Breaking: Democrat Senator Resigns, Charged With Child Molestation

Democrat

There is one less Democrat in the Arizona State Senate. Tony Navarrete quit his job in disgrace, charged with child molestation. He claims he’s as innocent as the driven snow but simply can’t cope with the barrage of nastygrams coming in day-and-night.

Democrat molester resigns

Without admitting guilt, AZ state Senator Tony Navarrete is resigning. It’s been confirmed by Senate President Karen Fann as of Tuesday, August 10, that the accused Democrat “sent her a brief email informing her that he is resigning immediately.”

Everybody on both sides of the aisle was pressing him to do the right thing and leave.

Navarrete represents a district in the downtown Phoenix metro and was arrested by Phoenix police. Even though he’s a Democrat and allegedly above the law, his whole career was turned upside down.

A boy, now 16, “came forward and said Navarrete had molested him starting when he was 12 or 13 years old and continuing until he was 15.” Detectives have some solid evidence. The police filed a “probable cause” statement that details a call detectives recorded between the boy and the senator. As reported by police, Navarrete “acknowledged the molestation and apologized.”

The Democrat is looking at “multiple charges of sexual conduct with a minor and a child molestation charge.” He’s been allowed to walk around free in the community since Saturday, after being released on $50,000 bond.

When he showed up in court for his initial appearance, he didn’t enter a plea yet. According to the prosecutor, he’s expecting “a mandatory minimum sentence of 49 years in prison if convicted of all charges.”

Focusing on defense

The Democrat former senator went on the offensive Tuesday, to declare he’s going to be playing hard on the defense side. He admits that “serious allegations have been made against” him.

“I adamantly deny all allegations that have been made and will pursue all avenues in an effort to prove my innocence. In doing so, I will be focusing the vast majority of my time and energy on my defense.” Ed Buck probably has some advice on how to beat some of the charges. He eventually went down for his crimes but never actually got charged with killing anybody, just dealing drugs.

“While I would love nothing more than to continue to serve the families of Arizona’s 30th District, I worry it will be impossible to give my constituents the full attention they deserve.”

Nobody is going to miss the Democrat much. Senate President Karen Fann wasn’t the only one demanding he step down. Liberals will be happy to know that when the replacement is chosen, it’s guaranteed to be a liberal. “A replacement from the same party will be chosen by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.”

The Democrat Senate Minority leader, Rebecca Rios, teamed up with RINO governor double crossing Doug Ducey to urge Navarrete to turn in his pink slip. He had already been scheduled for a Senate Ethics Committee investigation which was certain to “have led to his expulsion.”

Now that everyone knows where they stand, Fann and Rios will formally notify the governor and Secretary of State Katie Hobbs “of the vacancy in the 30th Legislative District, which covers parts of west Phoenix and Glendale.”
