Joe Biden did something this week that has outraged a lot of people.
Two things, actually.
First, he basically ignored Governor Ron DeSantis leading into the landfall of Hurricane Ian.
Secondly, he called the mayor of Tampa Bay in the middle of her press conference so everyone could see that he called.
Pure PR Move
Mayor Jane Castor was in the middle of her press conference when her phone started ringing.
She excused herself, spoke on her phone for a few minutes, then came back to the podium.
Castor then stated, “He just wanted to ensure that we had all the resources we needed, and clearly just wishing us the best.”
Exactly what resources he could help with as Ian was making landfall is a mystery.
That call should have taken place several days before.
This happened because Joe Biden was taking heat in the media for not having reached out to DeSantis, so he made this call when he did to make it look like he actually cared about the welfare of a red state, which we know he does not.
This was Joe Biden grandstanding, and nothing more.
