Allison Clements, a Democratic commissioner for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), has been a bad little girl.
It appears Clements has been sharing information she should not be sharing.
Not only that, but she is doing it with her former employee’s backers.
Can’t Do That!
Clements was asked to attend a function by Energy Foundation fossil fuels program director Meredith Wingate.
Wingate wrote, “Not sure if this is inappropriate to ask or not-would you be interested/willing/available to talk with funder group about Ferc 2022 priorities.”
She did attend, and a week later Wingate thanked her, writing, “I thought your comments were very interesting, and helpful in focusing our group on ways that we can support successful advocacy at FERC.”
One of the groups that Clements spoke with and gave a briefing to was a group designated as “funders only.’
This more or less equates to insider information.
Now the Institute for Energy Research (IER) wants answers.
IER President Tom Pyle stated, “Meeting regularly with far-left organizations she used to work for creates a troubling impression.
“Briefing the funders of these groups on the ‘FERC opportunity’ is inescapably improper.”
“At the very least, Commissioner Clements should recuse herself from voting on matters of interest to the Energy Foundation.
“If she was a Republican commissioner who was this cozy with industry representatives, the left would be calling for her resignation.”
When Clements was asked about the possible conflict of interest, she brushed it off, claiming it was part of her open-door policy.
Uhm, no, I don’t think it will be that easy.
With every passing day, we find out that more and more people are corrupt in this administration.
