How can anyone justify not sticking up for American citizens over illegal immigrants?
We need to ask Joe Biden that question.
Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), who also happens to be a former border sheriff, is getting zero support to codify VOICE and expand funding for angel families.
What’s the Problem?
Donald Trump created the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office.
Nehls is among a group of Republicans backing the Justice for Angel Families Act.
Biden and Secretary Mayorkas halted the original legislation.
They were upset that the office and legislation that was in place put a negative connotation on illegal immigrants.
Forget the American citizens that were losing family members, let’s worry about the feelings of people that broke our laws to get here.
Nehls stated, “Sadly, relatives of these victims or next-of-kin are forced to bear the financial and emotional fall-out of these criminal acts, with no support from the current Administration.
“Our legislation will help to provide support to these families of illegal alien crime, as my colleagues across the aisle continue to put these violent criminals first.”
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has thrown its support behind the bill.
FAIR spokesman RJ Hauman stated, “[Nehls and Marshall] want a nation that is safe and secure and are trying to properly assist angel families, while making sure their loved ones did not die in vain.
“Everyone should join FAIR in backing the Justice for Angel Families Act, no matter your chamber or party affiliation.”
The challenge will be not only to get his through Congress, which will only happen if the GOP takes over during midterm elections, but also to get Biden to sign it.
More than likely, he would veto the bill, but that would be a political disaster for him.
But, then again, he could care less about Americans, as he seems to like to pander to illegals more.
