Jamie McBride has one simple word of holiday travel advice for prospective Los Angeles, California tourists. “Don’t.” According to the top official of the city’s police union, if you value your life, avoid LA like the plague. They have that, too.

LA no place for a holiday

Jamie McBride, who serves as Director of the Los Angeles Police Protective League, which is the cop’s professional union, has some friendly advice for families considering a trip to Hollywood or Disneyland.

“My message to anyone thinking about coming to Los Angeles, especially during the holiday season, is don’t.” Not if personal safety or security for your family is a priority in your life.

Simply walking down the street in Los Angeles is something you need life insurance for. It’s no longer a holiday Fantasyland to bring the kids. In an interview on Wednesday, December 8, McBride “warned tourists against visiting the city amid a surge in violent crime.”

Thanks to police budgets which evaporated into thin air and liberal prosecutors who won’t prosecute, the LAPD simply cannot “guarantee your safety” because “things have gotten out of control.” For instance, the progressives running the state just decriminalized shoplifting. Local residents are turning to “do it yourself” vigilante justice.

Tinseltown is just like a movie, McBride explains. Not one of the holiday classic ones, though. “I’ve said it to people before, it’s like that movie ‘Purge.’ You know, instead of 24-hours to commit your [crime], these bad people have 365 days to commit whatever they want.”

LAPD’s Chief of Police wasn’t real happy with the vote of no-confidence from his own union boss. He instantly realized admitting defeat to all those gang-affiliated criminals who roam the street in packs puts a target on the backs of every officer still on the street. Between cop killing ambushers, vaccine mandate terminations, and plain old attrition, there are fewer and fewer of them every day.

Not ‘out of control’

Crime isn’t really out of control, LAPD Chief Michael Moore counters. It only seems that way. “It’s not out of control. It’s not a spiral that we’ve lost control over. It is important that we not have a sense of acquiescing or just lackadaisical approach to this.”

An LA holiday isn’t as safe now as it used to be, he grudgingly admits, but he isn’t ready to surrender to the Crips.

Sure, robberies may be up 5 percent compared to last year but that’s really not so bad. They fixed that number for next year’s holiday statistics already. They simply “decriminalized” crime.

Eleven of “14 criminals who were arrested after a recent smash-and-grab robbery have since been released due to California’s zero bail policy.”

They don’t consider shoplifting a crime any longer so District Attorney George Gascon committed to concentrate on “violent crimes” and maybe, once in a while, hold one of the higher profile criminals accountable. That’s no excuse to cancel your holiday travel plans.

Antifa inclined travelers are especially encouraged to visit. “Moore went on to welcome tourists to Los Angeles while reassuring that safety is the number one priority.” They even eased the EPA regulations on Molotov Cocktails.
