Last Friday, a New York State Supreme Court judge refused to grant Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s bid for access to emails between former Trump executive assistant Rhona Graff and former First Lady Melania Trump.

In his ruling, Judge Juan Merchan also blocked another subpoena for emails between Trump Organization staffers and White House officials, more than two years of the former president’s travel itineraries, and emails from Graff to Keith Schiller, former director of Oval Office operations.

The latest development shines a light on the ongoing legal battles that have been waged against President Donald J. Trump since he left office.

Judge Merchan ruled the subpoena was overly broad and would yield significantly more records than necessary.

This decision has made it difficult for Bragg’s team to gather evidence as part of their effort to convict President Trump on charges of falsifying business records in 2016.

However, Merchan did not block the subpoena request for the full video-recorded deposition given by President Trump in response to a federal lawsuit filed by advice columnist E Jean Carroll who accused him of rape and defamation – this is now up to a federal judge decide on.

Since leaving office, Former First Lady Melania Trump has kept her private life exactly that – private.

Publicist R Couri Hay who knew Mrs. Trump before her White House days commented “She’s  learned how to close the door and close the shutters and remain private.”

Despite being out of public life, she remains one of her husband’s closest advisors and is said be “all in” with his campaign efforts according to Kellyanne Conway who described Mrs. Trump as the “most trusted and most transparent adviser”.

Author Kate Andersen Brower added “ I know few people as comfortable in their skin as Melania Trump. She knows who she is and keeps her priorities in check. Melania keeps them guessing, and they keep guessing wrong…there’s something radical about it”.

Last Friday during an interview with John Fredericks Show President Donald J. Trump spoke openly about how difficult it was telling his wife about potential upcoming indictments against him saying “It’s always unpleasant when you have tell your wife…tomorrow sometime I’m going be indicted…and she says ‘for what?’ And I say ‘I have no idea'”.
