Harris and Buttigieg Ignore Rising Gas Prices, Pushing Expensive Electric Vehicles Instead

ALL NONSENSE: Harris and Buttigieg

Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg are ignoring rising gas prices, and choosing to focus on telling Americans to buy expensive electric vehicles.

Joe Biden finally banned Russian oil and gas imports on March 8th, and admitted that it will cause already skyrocketing gas prices to spike even more, though he refuses to take responsibility for the high gas prices caused by his failed policies.

Instead of offering solutions that will actually help the American people deal with the crippling costs of transportation, Kamala Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg decided to come up with a new version of “let them eat cake”…”let them buy electric cars!”

The Washington Examiner reported that the national average price for a gallon of gas has hit a historic high of $4.17 — which is an increase of 10 cents in only 24 hours and a full dollar jump in just one year.

But the historic price surge that has been hurting every American doesn’t seem to bother Harris or Buttigieg, who seemed happy on March 7th at an “Accelerating Clean Transportation” event.

“Clean transportation can bring significant cost savings for the American people as well,” Buttigieg said during the event. “Last month, we announced a $5 billion investment to build out a nationwide electric vehicle charging network so the people from rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV.”

Of course, the average cost of a new electric vehicle was $56,437 in November 2021, according to a report from Kelley Blue Book — which is an increase of 6.2% from November 2020.

Harris — offering an unbelievably cheesy vocal tone as if she was reading a nursery rhyme — borrowed from John Lennon on the subject.

“Imagine a future: the freight trucks that deliver bread and milk to our grocery store shelves and the buses that take children to school and parents to work. Imagine all the heavy-duty vehicles that keep our supply lines strong and allow our economy to grow. Imagine that they produced zero emissions. Well, you all imagined it,” she said during her speech.

Harris also said that “we have the ability to see what can be, unburdened by what has been, and then to make the possible actually happen.”

According to the New York Post, neither Harris nor Buttigieg specifically mentioned skyrocketing oil and gas prices during their addresses. They continue to be completely out of touch with everyday Americans, pushing high-cost electric vehicles as alternatives to people who are concerned about not being able to afford $4/gallon gas and who are worried about being able to put food on the table for their families. The attitudes of the elites are disgusting.
