Teachers in the sanctuary city of Chicago have reported that they are being ordered to give a “passing grade” of C or 70% to illegal alien children regardless of their academic performance.

Thanks to its sanctuary city policies, Chicago has taken in roughly 50,000 illegal aliens, many of whom brought children with them that have been placed in already overcrowded and failing city schools.

Teachers at these schools reportedly told a local news station that they have been instructed to give “passing grades” to these illegal alien children even if they don’t deserve them, according to WGN News reporter Sylvia Snowden.

In an interview with radio host Jon Hansen, Snowden explained that she had spoken with teachers from “multiple” Chicago Public Schools who have all confirmed that they were ordered to pass “migrant” children, even if it meant deliberately falsifying their grades.

“We’ve had multiple Chicago Public School teachers come forward to us at WGN News and exclusively tell us that they were instructed to give these students passing grades in their classes, regardless of academic performance,” she said during the interview.

Snowden went on to reveal that teachers had told her it isn’t “just the classes” where teachers are being forced to give illegal alien children passing grades — standardized testing is being affected as well.

“It’s not just the classes but the academic testing, the standardized testing that the students do every single year,” the reporter said. “We had one teacher tell us… that her student simply was not at [passing] grade level based upon the tests that were taken.”

Hansen questioned the veracity of this information, stating that he thought standardized testing was out of the hands of teachers and is instead managed at the state level.

“The information comes back,” Snowden responded. “When the tests have been proctored, after they’ve been evaluated, the teachers are able to see the scores. And when the teachers saw the scores, they saw that the students were not at grade level, yet they were instructed to give them 70 percent in every single class, which is the minimum C and pass them on to the next grade.”

Snowden also pointed out that the city is failing to properly educate these students, especially because they have been sending them to schools in poor black neighborhoods where there is little to no English as a Second Language training.
