Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has picked her running mate, radical pro-Hamas professor Bilal “Butch” Ware — who shared a post following the October 7 terror attacks encouraging Hamas to murder more Israeli Jews and calling their actions “fighting for their freedom.”
In a post on Sunday, Stein announced that Ware — an associate professor at the University of California-Santa Barbara — would be her running mate in the November election, declaring that the pro-Hamas professor shared her commitment to building a “peaceful world.”
“I’m honored and thrilled to welcome Butch Ware as my running mate and the Vice President we need at this moment in history,” Stein wrote. “His personal experience overcoming systemic injustice, his deep knowledge of history and people’s movements, and his commitment to building a sustainable, just, peaceful world make Butch the ideal candidate.”
“This is truly a historic ticket bringing together a Jewish woman and Black Muslim man against genocide, endless war, climate collapse, and rampant injustice, and for an economy that works for working people, a livable future for our children, and an America and a world that works for all of us,” she added.

It was unsurprising that Stein chose an anti-Israel running mate, as she has recently been very anti-Israel in her rhetoric as well despite being Jewish, but many saw her decision to pick a terrorist sympathizer as shocking.
Social media immediately erupted in response to Stein’s post, with users unearthing Ware’s past extremist rhetoric.
The Post Millennial senior editor Andy Ngo responded to Stein’s post by sharing his past coverage of Ware’s radicalism, noting that he “is a supporter of terrorism and Hamas.”

Following the Hamas massacre of more than 1,000 Israelis on October 7, Ware “posted a video on Instagram of his idol Julius Malema praising Hamas and encouraging them to kill more people. The video is so extreme that IG removed it, angering the professor. Malema is the leader of the far-left South African party, Economic Freedom Fighters,” according to Ngo’s post from October 2023.

Even after Instagram removed his video for praising terrorism, Ware declared that he was “unapologetic” about the post “and will not condemn” it.

Ware has also referred to Israel as “the beast” and the Jewish nation should be “stabbed in the heart” during a larger discussion titled, “Sunnah of Struggle – Black and Palestinian Liberation from Islamic Perspective.”
The radical professor also compared the George Floyd riots to Hamas terrorism in a positive way, arguing that both amounted to resistance.
Ware has also attacked black Americans for daring to disagree with his radical views, writing in an Instagram post: “It is especially sad to see the Black complicity in this. These uncle tom, uncle ruckus, house negroes that shill for Israel should really be ashamed of themselves. Any thinking Black person should immediately recognize the dehumanizing slander being marshaled against Palestinian resistors.”
