If you are up to date on everything that is happening in the House right now, you know Speaker Johnson is on thin ice.
The attacks continue against Johnson by the Freedom Caucus, with Johnson facing a vote on a motion to vacate from Rep. Greene (R-GA).
To make matters worse, Johnson now only has a one-vote advantage after the latest special election Democrat was sworn in.
The New Leader
Johnson has literally done nothing to help the conservative agenda since taking over as Speaker.
He has caved to Dems, handing Joe Biden several wins on the legislative front.
Granted, with a divided caucus, he has little leverage, but I also blame him for that.
As Speaker, it is his job to get everyone on the same page, and he has failed on that front as well.
As some Republicans have already stated, Minority Leader Jeffries (D-N.Y.) might as well be Speaker because Johnson is passing the Democrat agenda.
I have read several reports where members have taken to calling him the Shadow Speaker, and now Jeffries is throwing that in Johnson’s face.
He recently stated, “Even though we’re in the minority, we effectively have been governing as if we were in the majority because we continue to provide a majority of the votes necessary to get things done.
“Those are just the facts.”
This dysfunction could wind up costing the GOP the House in November, which would be a big problem for Trump if he wins this election, and a bigger problem for the GOP if Biden wins.
Jeffries will be waiting to pounce, looking for Trump to do anything that would be cause for an impeachment, sending us back to 2016-2020 all over again.
