Mark Meadows is working his magic again.
Donald Trump’s former Chief of Staff is trying to have the Georgia case delayed.
Meadows has filed for the case to be paused while his appeal process plays out.
Not Fair
As most of you know, Meadows made the argument that the things he did regarding January 6 were part of his job.
The biggest claim is regarding the call that Trump had with Georgia’s Secretary of State, where he asked him to “find” votes.
The call was wet up by Meadows, but a lower court judge ruled that the call was political in nature, not part of what he would consider Meadows’ normal job description.
Now, I don’t know about you, but if you are chief of staff and the boss says call such and such, you call them.
Anyway, the filing for the case to be delayed stated, “Absent a stay, the State will continue seeking to try Meadows 42 days from now.
“If the State gets its way, Meadows could be forced to go to trial — and could be convicted and incarcerated — before the standard timeline for a federal appeal would play out.”
It’s a valid argument, but it will have to land before a panel that does not have Democrat-appointed judges, or Meadows is doomed.
