Another weekend, more blood in the streets in a major Democrat-run city.
Chicago’s newly elected mayor promised to address the violent crime that permeates this city, especially during the summer months.
So far, his community outreach plan has failed miserably, as 27 more people were shot over the most recent weekend, five of them fatally.
The Blood Continues to Flow
When Brandon Johnson was elected, he vowed to take a more community-based approach to solving the violent crime issue in his city.
That was a creative way of saying that he embraces soft-on-crime policies and reallocating police funds to other budgetary areas in communities.
Well, that is failing.
The rage has continued under his watch, with there being two out of three weeks with five fatalities and more than two dozen shootings.
Three weeks ago, 35 people were shot, with five fatalities, and this past weekend, 27 were shot, with five fatalities.
These are weekend numbers that are equivalent to mass shooting numbers, but nobody really seems to care.
Locals are begging for more police help, with one stating, “They need to clean it up.
“Even the police, even our area.
“The kids can’t even come to play. This is not safe.”
This is a culture, and it has gone on for decades in inner cities, but I guess that is racist for even suggesting it.
This is not something you see in suburban neighborhoods, black or white.
This is a plague that is eating our big cities alive, yet people like Mayor Johnson are talking about less police and fewer penalties for criminals… exactly how is that supposed to reverse this trend?
