A New Hampshire Democrat that had gained national headlines is now facing criminal charges.
Stacie-Marie Laughton, a biological male who identifies as female, is a former State Representative in New Hampshire.
Laughton has now been charged with allegedly distributing “sexually explicit images of children.”
Career Criminal
Laughton is no stranger to controversy.
Laughton was first elected to office in 2012, but he was unable to serve because he was still on probation for a 2008 felony conviction.
That charge was for credit card fraud.
In 2015, Laughton was arrested for making a bomb threat against the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in 2015.
Then, in 2021, Laughton faced charges for misusing the state’s 911 texting system.
Even with such a questionable record, voters in New Hampshire elected Laughton to office again in 2022.
Once again, however, Laughton could not take office because of stalking charges.
Thursday, Laughton was charged again, this time with four counts of distributing images portraying child sexual abuse.
Sgt. John Cinelli, Nashua Police Department public information officer, stated, “They spoke with reporting parties that indicated Laughton distributed sexually explicit images of children.
“Detectives from the special investigations division were assigned to further the investigation.
“They applied for and were granted a warrant for Laughton’s arrest.”
I mean, seriously, is this the best we can do as a country?
Is the candidate selection that poor that we are now embracing criminals to run for public office?
This country better wake up soon or there will be no recovery from this rabbit hole that we continue to drift down into.
