I believe Trump just made a major miscalculation with supporters that would not be considered part of the hardcore base.
Trump absolutely shredded Kayleigh McEnany, his former Press Secretary, for what he thought was a dig.
From the social media reaction I have seen, he may have cost himself a considerable number of votes.
Big Mistake
McEnany is adored by Trump supporters and conservatives in general.
She completely set a new bar for how a press secretary needs to be prepared when facing the media.
She stood at that podium and took missiles for Trump, and he just slammed her.
McEnany was discussing current polling and gave the Real Clear Politics average, which had Trump up by 22.4 points over DeSantis.
Her numbers were dead on based on the average of all polls.
Trump ripped her on Truth Social, posting, “Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews.
“I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up. While 25 is great, it’s not 34.”
The nickname is ludicrous when you consider how she was as a press secretary.
Trump did not stop there, however.
He continued, “She [McEnany] knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll.
“The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!”
I doubt anyone would argue the fact that McEnany is, in fact, a star.
This woman has continued to support and defend Trump after leaving the White House.
For someone that talks about loyalty, how can he possibly explain going after McEnany like this?
This was a huge mistake by Trump and he owes McEnany a public apology.
